Community Guidelines

Last updated: March 2026

Welcome to the BrickSwap Community

BrickSwap is a marketplace built by LEGO fans, for LEGO fans. These guidelines help keep our community safe, fair, and fun for everyone. By using BrickSwap, you agree to follow these standards.

Listing Quality Standards

Great listings build trust and lead to faster trades. Every listing on BrickSwap should meet these standards:

Photo Requirements

  • Include at least 3 photos of your actual set.
  • Use real photos you took yourself β€” show the set from multiple angles.
  • Include at least one close-up showing condition details (box seal, piece quality, etc.).
  • Stock photos or images from other listings are not allowed.

Condition Grading

  • New (Sealed) β€” Factory sealed, never opened. Box must be intact.
  • Complete β€” All pieces present and accounted for. May have been built. Instructions included.
  • Incomplete β€” Some pieces or minifigures are missing. You must list all missing items.

Accuracy

  • The LEGO set number must match the actual set you are listing.
  • Descriptions must honestly represent the item β€” do not exaggerate condition.
  • Prices should be reasonable. Listings with obviously inflated prices may be flagged.

Prohibited Content

The following are strictly prohibited on BrickSwap:

  • Counterfeit or knock-off LEGO products (Lepin, Decool, King, etc.)
  • Selling sets with undisclosed missing pieces
  • Using photos of a different set than the one being sold
  • Stolen goods of any kind
  • Adult-themed modifications or inappropriate content
  • Duplicate listings, spam, or promotional content unrelated to LEGO

Fair Trading Etiquette

  • Honor your commitments β€” if you agree to a trade, follow through.
  • Respond to messages within 48 hours. Ghosting other users is not acceptable.
  • Be upfront about any issues with your set before completing a transaction.
  • Ship items securely and within the agreed timeframe. Use tracking when possible.
  • Leave honest reviews after each transaction β€” they help the whole community.

Trust & Reputation

BrickSwap uses a reputation system to help you identify trustworthy traders:

  • Badges β€” Earn badges for milestones like your first trade, 5-star review streaks, and more.
  • Builder Level β€” Your level (Novice to LEGO Master) reflects your trading experience and reputation.
  • Reviews β€” Both buyer and seller review each transaction. Reviews cover overall experience, completeness, communication, and shipping.

Dispute Resolution

If something goes wrong with a transaction, here is how we handle it:

  1. Try to resolve the issue directly with the other party via messages.
  2. If you cannot resolve it, open a dispute within 14 days of the transaction.
  3. Our moderation team will review the evidence from both sides.
  4. A fair resolution will be issued β€” this may include a refund, partial refund, or release of funds.

Enforcement

Violations of these guidelines may result in the following actions:

  • Warning β€” A first-time or minor violation. You will be notified and asked to correct the issue.
  • Suspension β€” Repeated or serious violations. Your account will be temporarily suspended.
  • Permanent Ban β€” Severe violations (fraud, stolen goods, repeated offenses). Your account will be permanently removed.

Reporting Issues

If you see a listing or user that violates these guidelines, please report it. You can flag listings directly, or contact our community team.
